Calavera Talavera Candles (2015-2016)

Hand-dipped, hand painted skull candles, mixing a variety of inspirations such as hand painted blue and white talavera pottery of Puebla, Mexico, Pre-Hispanic iconography and codexes along with ancient body painting rituals and pop-culture.

Created in unison with painter Israel Hernandez in Malinalco, Mexico Master artisan candle maker Marco Antonio Garduño in Toluca, Mexico.
