Through 2016 and 2019 we worked with Malinalco based Mexican painter Miguel Hernandez to create this series of decorative Aztec warrior throw pillows. His light-handed style adds a playfulness to what otherwise would be a serious subject.

They were screen printed by hand in Mexico City on woven cotton then are embroidered by hand in Oaxaca Mexico by a collective of 7 women and 1 man. We created this group to bring extra work into the community where we have our studio.
