Materials and Process:
Holly silk bias cut patchwork dress made from pieces of silk I´ve saved over the course of the last 30 years of making one of a kind clothing. I never throw scraps away and thought it would be fun to make a special dress which spans the arc of my last three decades of making.
The name Holly derives from Holly Hobbie, one of my favorite characters of the 80’s when I was a kid, I had a little Holly Hobbie mini electric oven which I’d use to bake small cakes, (inside my bedroom!) and fondly remember it catching fire multiple times. She was a cute rag doll in Laura Wilder style, pioneer chic with a little patchwork apron and calico dress.
The size is small/X-small, but it is cut on the bias so stretches with curves in all the right places. The straps are adjustable silk chiffon raw cut bows, the interior seams throughout are French double sewn. It took about two weeks to make the quilted patchwork textile, and is thoughtfully sheer in certain places, which shows a little, but not too much- where the black silk chiffon is located.
This dress is truly unique and absolutely exquisite.

Care: Hand wash in cool water with PH Neutral soap, line dry out of the sun- or dry clean
