Our One Day Play Creative Textile Workshops are meant for you to explore new ideas and concepts, dive into yourself and latent desires, bring up to the surface your sleeping creativity in ways you’ve never dreamed of while working side by side textile artist Christina Hattler in her dreamy light filled studio.

Creativity with Natural Dyes (9-1pm)
Explore the possibilities of natural color, one-on-one with Christina in her studio. Christina will work with you to prepare multiple dye colors to play with and will show you how color layering can be a free form of play. We will also explore techniques in shibori resist.Options: Dye 2 skeins of local sheep’s wool or 2 skeins of cotton, or 10 small skeins for embroidery for your own embroidery, weaving knitting or crochet projects, or dye 2 meters of silk fabric for your your own use. Or 1 large silk pareo scarf, 1 silk tote bag, individual size silk pillow cover or throw pillow cover.
Indigo Play (9-1 pm)
Explore vat making, shibori resist techniques, on wool, silk or cotton. Options: Dye 1 large skein of local sheep’s wool or 2 skeins of cotton, or 10 small skeins for embroidery foruse on your own embroidery, weaving knitting or crochet projects, or dye 2 meters of silk or cotton fabric for your your own use. Or 1 silk parado scarf, 1 silk tote bag 1 silk tote bag, individual size silk pillow cover, throw pillow cover.
Botanical Print Play class (9-1 pm)
One of the prettiest techniques in a natural dyer’s arsenal, explore multiple ways to create a wide range of colors and prints using local plants and flowers. We will create 2 meters of fabric samples on silk which can then be used to create a work of art or clothing in a second class or on your own.Or 1 large silk pareo scarf, 1 silk tote bag, individual size silk pillow cover or throw pillow cover.
Abstract Embroidery Play (9-2 pm)
Explore free form embroidery using intuition as your guide, feel instead of think.Comes with silk or cotton fabric, embroidery needle and threads, and an embroidery ring you can take with you to continue your work.
Weaving with Traditional and Non Traditional Materials Play (9-2 pm)
Explore weaving as an interior expression using traditional and non traditional materials to make your own intuitional work of art. Work Side by side Christina in her studio, she will guide you through the entire creative process.
Collage and Texture Play, Mixed Media Textile Making (9-2 pm)
Explore one of my favorite forms of making, collage and textiles. Mix a variety of techniques to make a work of art. Mix embroidery, cut work, stitching, beading, weaving, collage and textures. Comes with a small frame you can take with you.

Cancelation Policy: Since deep planning and preparation goes into each bespoke workshop, we will only refund 50% of the full amount 72 hours from date of booking. After 72 hours there is no refund.
