Materials and Processes:

Beginning in 2016 we collaborated with Malinalco based Mexican painter Miguel Hernandez to create this series of Aztec warrior throw pillows based on his personal naive folk style of work. His light-handed style adds a playfulness to what otherwise would be a serious subject.

They are screen printed by hand on woven cotton then are embroidered by hand in Oaxaca Mexico by a collective of 7 women and 1 man, which we created to bring extra work into the community where we have our offices.

Sewn with french seam interiors and an envelope style back. Insert is not included.
