Botanical Printing and Embroidery Workshop

Tattler Library in Brooklyn, NY

June 30th, 2026

In the sweltering heat of peak summer in NYC, an incredible group of women came over to Tatter Library in Brooklyn to learn more about natural dyes and specifically the art of botanical printing, otherwise known as eco-printing or bundle dying. It was my first time giving a class at Tatter Library and I was overwhelmed with how sweet and prepared the staff was and how special the space is. They even managed to find fresh very out of season cempasuchil (Aztec marigold!!) for the class.

As you can see from the images, the work created by everyone resulted in beautiful explosions of natural color and we also luckily had some stealth pro embroiderers in the group! I hope I get to return and teach more classes in this fantastic space and meet more of you wonderful curious creative humans in the process! ‘Til next time!

Textile Poetry is a series of workshops and retreats on creativity, natural dying and textile related art practices that I give in my studio in Oaxaca, MX and also in other spaces and places. If you would like to take a private or group workshop with me or invite me to give one in your space, please feel free to get in touch :)
